While I am not the cook of the family I do enjoy getting in the kitchen on the weekends with my husband to help prepare food for the week ahead. Sometimes that will include a meal or two if we know we will be busy and need to quickly throw something in the oven one night. It definitely makes things easier on us during the week.
I am interested in stepping up this idea and cooking for a month ahead of time. Or, at the very least have two meals a week prepared ahead of time. We have an additional freezer in the garage so space is not a problem. This would work great for soups and casseroles. Frugal Mom, has a great post outlining the process for once a month cooking. And of course, you should top off the meal with a Date Mates label for easy identification!
