Christmas is only days away and it's a little more special to me this year, as it's the first time that our 2-year-old daughter really understands what's going on. So, while I'm really looking forward to meeting the little one in my belly, I'm glad that I'll get to focus all of my attention on her on Christmas Day and take in all of her excitement and joy.
We're going to enjoy a low-key Christmas at home this year and I can't wait for slower, lazier days that don't involve a rush out the door in the morning to daycare and work. It will also be so nice to have my husband home every day to help with the menial stuff that I so often do alone in the week (dinner prep, dishes, laundry, struggling to dress an angry, stubborn toddler in winter clothes). #Momlife is so glamorous!
Weeks Along: 27, which marks the beginning of the 3rd trimester. Only 12 weeks to go. HOLY. !#$*.
Current Symptoms: Restless legs at night. So strange, but it only happens when I lay down to finally rest in the evening. My legs suddenly feel like I need to stretch and move them. On a positive note, it's been a great excuse for nightly leg and foot rubs on the couch!
Emotional Status: Still feeling pretty happy - as long as I'm rested and fed - Otherwise, beware!
Cravings: Nothing in particular this week - I enjoy anything edible right now, to be honest.
Body Changes: Just the regular growing and stretching. I'm definitely getting a lot bigger this time around and the baby is sitting a lot lower than in my first pregnancy. It feels like there's a lot more pressure on my bladder, which means lots of trips to the bathroom.
Also, my hair has been falling out as if I'm going bald. I'm talking HANDFULS of hair in the shower drain, on my sheets, down the backs of my shirts. Last pregnancy, my hair stopped falling out completely and got thicker until I had given birth. This time it's the complete opposite - how funny! Anyone else experience that?
I'm going to be on vacation for a couple of weeks, so check back in the new year for a new update! In the meantime, follow me on Instagram (@ErynJean) for pics!
