June was such a fun month around the Mabelhood. Here is a recap of just some of what we were up to.
We cycled for a cause!
The Big Bike ride was a great success! Thanks to those made the ride in the heat and thanks to everyone who sponsored our team. Together we raised over $1800 for the Heart & Stroke foundation!
Everyone came but the ants!
What better way to celebrate the beginning of summer than playing and eating outside? Our summer kick off picnic complete with games, yummy food and camaraderie made for a great afternoon!
Ah…the perfect blend.
The Health & Wellness Committee’s Lunchtime Smoothie Challenge was the perfect blend of competition and refreshment. The winners? Warren & Julie with their tropical culinary combination of spinach, mango, pineapple, banana, vanilla almond milk & flax seeds. Yum!
All and all it was a great month. Happy upcoming Canada Day & Independence Day! Summer is here!
Just like that and May is over! Here at the Mabelhood we celebrated May the 4th, Allergy Awareness month, Mother’s day & Victoria Day.
The Community Relations Committee food drive was a great success. We collected over 500 items! The winning team was our Marketing department with a total of 123 items. The close runners up were the Customer Service & Sales/Retail team with 115 items. It was exciting to get our competitive spirit going for such a good cause.
We also organized a healthy potluck to raise funds for our Big Bike team. We shared salads, sushi, salsa and many more delicious treats. Dustin from the Heart & Stroke Foundation came by to tell us more about the foundation and the way the money we raise is put to work. It was a really fun and informative lunch. Now with May behind us we’re well on our way to summer and the Big Bike team is looking forward to our bike ride on June 18th. Help us kick off summer right. Sponsor our team today at Mabel’s Labels Team Page!
If you’re getting your kids ready for camp this summer, don’t forget our Limited Edition Camp Combo is only around until June 30!
It’s always busy around Mabelhood HQ and we wanted to share some of the fun stuff that we’ve been up to this month.
A very cute bunny icon hopped its way into the Mabel’s Labels family of designs, just in time for spring!
The Community Relations Committee challenged each department to battle it out in an April food drive for Mission Services Opportunity Centres in Hamilton. The fact is 35,000 people in our community go without adequate daily food and 36% of those people are children. Everyone can help make a difference by donating what they can.
As always Julie Cole is super busy, you may have spotted her on CanadaAM on April 7. She was part of a parenting panel discussion. The following morning, Julie and her son Mack were on CHCH discussing autism.
In the spirit of earth day this week, today we’re out beautifying our adopted park (Jackson Park) and heading back to the office for our first BBQ of the season! We hope everyone gets a chance to head outside and enjoy the beginning of this beautiful spring weather!
